Million-Dollar Throw was another good book. The end was definitely not my favorite part, but I think that overall it was a good book. Mike Lupica is a great sports author and by no means did this book disappoint me. It is about a 13-year old Quarterback in Massachusets. He wins a chance to win a million dollars by throwing a football through a hoop at a Patriots game, and the book was very good in terms of a plot. I thought that I could connect to this book in terms of the pressure that the main character felt, and the everyday life of this character, Nate, reminded me of myself in several instances. I think if you enjoy youth football this is a great read and while it may not seem so this book is much deeper than just football. It goes into much deeper topics and one element that is reflected a lot in this book is being selfless rather than selfish. I would recommend this book and believe that it is a great read for people of all ages, but more specifically children. I think I would give Million-Dollar Throw 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Million-Dollar Throw really surprised me. I have read other Mike Lupica sports books in the past and would describe them as mediocre at best. But, for some reason, this one really stood out more than the other books I have read from Lupica. I thought the plot was great. The main character, Nate Brodie, was well thought-out and detailed. The supporting character, Abby, was the same. I feel like Nate stood for everything that young kids should strive for and how they should act. Nate is talented yet kind, popular, yet hung out with the girl who didn't have any friends. He was loyal and appreciated all that his teammates did for him. He had the strength of mind to know that without his teammates he would be nothing. After all even if he makes a perfect throw, the receiver making the catch is what makes the throw look good in the end. I would recommend this book to anyone, sports fan or not. It is an inspiring tale that I think anyone and everyone would appreciate. For me, Million-Dollar Throw earns a rating of 4 out of 5 stars.
